GD-04 Applications
with basic module GD-04

How to
  with backup module GD-04A

How to
with DTMF detection module GD-04D

How to
How to be informed about problems and alarms
  • Suitable for reporting technology faults, e.g. in a boiler room ...
  • The device can also be combined with older types of Jablotron control panels, as well as with other types – even those without any built-in GSM communicator connection.

What to do:

How to do the wiring:

Wire the alarm output to the A input and to GND in the GD-04 device.
Send a programming SMS to set the desired texts and phone numbers (a valid SIM card must be installed in David).

    PC, ATA, alarm, DTA,
    PC, TNA, 777123456
If the control panel supports a secondary alarm output (e.g. for FIRE indication), then wire this second alarm output to the B input and to GND in David.
Send the following programming SMS to David:

    PC, ATB, fire
    PC, TNB, 777123456

To ensure that David functions during mains dropouts, equip David with a GD-04A back-up module or supply David from a power source which is itself backed-up (e.g. from a control panel).
How to get reports about water overflows, washing-machine flooding, …
  • A flood detector of type LD-63HS can be used in combination with the GD-04.
  • Any sensor with a switchable output is suitable, including a floating switch.

What to do:

How to do the wiring:

Wire the flood-detector output to the A input and to GND in the GD-04.
Send a programming SMS to set the desired texts and phone numbers (a valid SIM card must be installed in David).

    PC, ATA, flood, DTA,
    PC, TNA, 777123456
If a flood pump is installed, let the operational status be reported.
Send the following programming SMS to David:

PC, ATA, flood, DTA, water pumped out
    PC, TNA, 777123456

Get reports about pump faults (disconnection of the motor protection unit from an auxiliary contact).
  •    PC, DTB, pump fault
  •    PC, TNB, 777123456
How to turn the watering on
… and also the air conditioning in my house – what a stuffy day!

What to do:

How to do the wiring:

Wire the relay X contact to the watering-system switch. Wire the relay Y contact to the air-conditioning switch in the house.
Send a programming SMS to set the desired texts and phone numbers (a valid SIM card must be installed in David).

PC, ARX, Watering ON, DRX, Watering OFF

PC, ARY, Conditioner ON, DRY, Conditioner OFF
It can be useful to have the watering switched on for only a pre-programmed period (e.g. for an hour – i.e. for 3600 seconds).

    PC, TMX, 3600
From now on, SMS instruction Watering ON switches the watering on for 1 hour. Sending Conditioner ON switches on the air-conditioning, sending Conditioner OFF turns the conditioning off.

The watering – even when switched on for a pre-programmed period – can be switched off anytime by sending Watering OFF.
How to control the garage door via dialling-in
  (unanswered phone calls)
  • Dialling-in control is free of charge, David performs the instruction but does not answer the call.
  • Calls from unauthorized numbers (unknown to David) are ignored.

What to do:

How to do the wiring:

Wire the relay X contact to the garage-door manual-control. Assume that the door control pulse time is 2 seconds (the time required for the button to be pressed).
Send a programming SMS to authorize the desired phone numbers for dialling-in control (a valid SIM card must be installed in David).

    PC, ADX, 77712456
– output X only responds to dialling in from the single number shown above
    PC, ADX, 77712456, 777456789
- output X then responds to dialling in from the two tel. numbers shown. Up to 50 numbers can be entered!
    PC, TMX, 2 – program a 2 second switch-on period (pulse time)

If 50 tel. numbers are not sufficient (e.g. when a common entrance is shared by more than fifty users), another 50 numbers can be set for relay Y. The X and Y outputs must then be wired in parallel.
How to control the gate to a company parking lot

  • Employees are granted free (unlimited) access.
  • There is still parking space for other concerned parties– they can buy credit for the desired number of entries.

What to do:

How to do the wiring:

Wire the relay X contact to the gate control input. Assume that the control pulse time is 2 seconds.
Send a programming SMS to authorize the desired phone numbers for controlling the gate via dialling-in (a valid SIM card must be installed in David).

    PC, ADX, 777123456, 777456789
- tel. numbers of company employees – with no limit to the number of entries

    PC, TMX, 2 - program a 2 second switch-on period (pulse time)
A limit to the number of allowed entries is imposed by the following instruction:

PC, LDX, 777123456, 9, 777456789, 30 - David is configured to open the gate 9 times by dialling in from the 1st tel. number and 30 times from the 2nd one.

Program a Service number to get reports about the entrance credit running out. This enables prompt agreement on new credit.
How to control filling a water tank from a well.

  • Using two GD-04 devices in combination (mutual control) – information transmission
  • Substituting a hardwired connection by reliable wireless communication

What to do:

1st GD-04: water tank

Wire the low level sensor to the A input and to GND on David. The sensor’s contact is supposed to be closed whenever the water level sinks under a minimum limit.
Wire the high level sensor to the B input and to GND on David. The sensor’s contact is supposed to be closed whenever the water level rises above a maximum limit.
Ensure a valid SIM card is installed in the water-tank David and send a programming SMS to set the desired texts and the phone number of the water-well David.

    PC,ATA,pump ON,ATB,pump OFF

PC, TNA, 777123456 - the SIM card tel. number for the water-well GD-04

2nd GD-04: water-well

Wire the pump contact to the X relay contact.
Ensure a valid SIM card is installed in the water-well David and send a programming SMS to set the desired instruction names for pump control.

PC, ARX, pump ON, DRX, pump OFF

Set a maximum time (e.g. 30 minutes) for pump operation to prevent the water tank from overflowing.

PC, TMX, 1800 - relay X switch-on period, in seconds

The operation proceeds as follows:

The water-pump GD-04 – as soon as the water level falls under the minimum limit, input A is activated and the SMS instruction pump on is sent to the water-well GD-04.
The water-well GD-04 - the SMS is received and responded to by a relay switching on. The water starts to be pumped into the tank.
The water-pump GD-04 – the maximum operational water level is reached, input B is activated and the SMS instruction pump off is sent.
The water-well GD-04 – the SMS is received and responded to by a relay switching off. The water stops being pumped. If a time limit is set for pump operation then the pumping stops at the very latest after the time limit has elapsed. This can be useful when no SMS stop instruction is received e.g. due to the float getting jammed.

How to do the wiring:

Also use a pumping time limit when no sensor (contact) is available for detecting the maximum operational water level. Use the remaining inputs for reporting faults (e.g. pump stoppages).
